China Health Checkup Price Index

A historical sample of mixed listed checkup packages in nine Chinese cities, including general and specialty packages. Collected August 2026 from 16 hospitals, with 280 recorded entries; package eligibility was not uniformly verified against full item lists. This is not a current quotation or a sample limited to public Grade 3A hospitals.

The figures reproduce the selected historical records, not consistently comparable general-checkup minimums. Package contents, eligibility and availability require confirmation with the hospital. These are not PriumCare packages, city-wide minimum prices or current quotations.

    How these figures were collected

The archive combines hospital booking-channel records, supplied screenshots, third-party booking listings and one hospital's English package list. Source completeness varies; some third-party listings were recorded as awaiting official confirmation. These are recorded sample prices, not prices set or negotiated by PriumCare.

The recorded counts include general and specialty packages, including executive and VIP tiers. Some records lack full item lists. The displayed figures preserve the historical selection; the counts and ranges do not demonstrate that every package met a uniform general-checkup definition.

Collection window: August 2026. Coverage: 9 cities, 16 sampled hospitals, 280 recorded package entries. This count is not a verified total of qualifying general checkups.

    Sample scope and selection limits

The historical selection removed some unsuitable entries, but the package counts were not uniformly requalified from full item lists:

    • Pre-employment, driving licence and residence permit examinations
    • Some specialty packages remain in the recorded counts; these are not interchangeable with general checkups
    • Optional add-ons and supplementary item bundles

A general checkup and a specialty screen may contain very different examinations. The archive does not establish that all 280 recorded entries met a shared item-level qualification rule.

The archive also contains a CNY 33 driving-licence examination in Shenzhen and an ambulatory ECG priced at about CNY 154 in Suzhou. Such entries are not comparable substitutes for a general checkup and are not the reference figures displayed above.

Hospital category labels alone do not establish scope. The archive includes a gynaecology-only package labelled as a general checkup, and another hospital’s entries lack detailed item lists. This limits what can be verified from the historical sample.

    Known limitations

    • Coverage is uneven. Hangzhou reflects four hospitals; Chengdu, Shanghai, Suzhou and Xi'an reflect one each. A single-hospital city shows that hospital's pricing, not the city's floor.
    • In the recorded sample, paired men's and women's packages differ in their included tests. The price gap runs from about CNY 40 to CNY 1,280 depending on the package; it cannot be attributed to one added examination across all packages.
    • USD equivalents use an indicative rate of 1 USD ≈ CNY 6.80 and are for orientation only.
    • Published prices change. The hospital's own quote at the time of booking governs.
    • These are hospital prices. They do not include PriumCare coordination or interpretation, travel or accommodation. Any assistance included by the hospital or booking provider depends on the specific package.

    Frequently asked questions

What starting prices were observed in this historical checkup-price sample?

In the August 2026 historical sample of 16 hospitals across nine cities, the selected historical reference prices ranged from CNY 499 in Suzhou to CNY 4,622 in Shanghai. The sample is not limited to public Grade 3A hospitals and does not establish city-wide minimums or current quotations. Executive and VIP packages in the sample reached CNY 34,288; the hospital's current quote governs.

Are all recorded packages verified general checkups?

No. This historical sample includes general and specialty packages, and some records lack full item lists. Eligibility was not uniformly verified against a shared item-level rule. The recorded counts and prices do not establish comparable general-checkup minimums; confirm the package with the hospital.

Why do women's health checkup packages start at a higher price?

Where the cheapest baseline package is men-only, women's packages start higher because gynecological screening and pelvic ultrasound are included, with the difference ranging from CNY 40 to CNY 1,280 depending on the hospital and city.

Do published hospital checkup prices include coordination or translation?

No. Published figures are medical fees paid directly to the hospital. Separate coordination services, English report translation, and accompanied hospital visits are quoted individually by our team.

PriumCare offers appointment coordination and separately quoted, per-page English report translation for international visitors.
